Nominating Committee in Search for Future
Leaders of Our Society
This is the time of year the Nominating Committee is
actively in search of members who have the interest and
commitment to serve on the Board of Directors. The
SPSSCS needs your participation and input to continue
the growth of the Society.

The following is a list of elected positions open for
nominations:
President-Elect: The President-Elect serves a
one-year term and automatically succeeds to the
Presidency. He/she serves as the chair of the Nominating
Committee and as the commission officer overseeing the
activities of the Bylaws, Government Relations, and
Membership Committees. Only members who have served on
the Board of Directors for one term are eligible for
nomination.
Vice President: The Vice President serves a
one-year term and acts as the commission officer
overseeing the activities of the Marketing and Practice
Development, Public Relations and Risk Management
Committees. Only Members who have served on the Board of
Directors for a minimum of one term are eligible for
nomination.
Treasurer: The Treasurer monitors the fiscal
affairs of the Society and provides reports and
interpretation to the Membership and as requested by the
President or the Board of Directors. The Treasurer shall
prepare an annual report for the membership and the
Board of Directors. The Treasurer shall be in charge of
and responsible for the Society’s funds and/or
investments. The Treasurer shall collect all dues, fees
or charges and deposit these funds in such accounts as
approved by the Board of Directors.
Secretary: The Secretary shall perform all
duties incident to the office and any other duties
assigned by the Board of Directors. The Secretary shall
be responsible for the minutes and maintaining the
records of the proceedings of all business meetings of
the Membership and meetings of the Board of Directors.
The Secretary shall see that all notices as required by
law or these Bylaws are given to the Membership or the
Board of Directors. The Secretary shall maintain a
Membership roster.
Member-at-Large: The Members-at-Large serve a
two-year term and assist with the governing and
management of the Society. They are active in membership
activities and may chair committees.
Historian: The Historian serves a one-year term
and maintains records of all materials, published
articles, news items and information of historical
interest pertaining to the Society.
Parliamentarian:
The Parliamentarian shall be appointed by the President
for a term of one (1) year. The Parliamentarian shall
perform all duties incident to the office and any other
duties assigned by the Board of Directors and the
Membership on parliamentary procedure. Parliamentarian
shall oversee the conduct of all Society meetings by
enforcing Robert’s Rules of Order. The Parliamentarian
shall rule on questions of parliamentary law. The
Parliamentarian shall serve on the Bylaws Committee.
Nominating Committee: Two active members are
elected at the Annual Business Meeting to serve for a
one-year term. They are responsible for presenting a
voting slate to the membership each year along with the
President-Elect and the two ASAPS advisors. |
